This online course aims to help you develop your writing skills towards producing well-organized essays and research papers . The structure of this course is flexible and will be adapted based on the strengths and weaknesses of each group. Exercises, assignments and other writing resources are available online each week, and every student is expected to accomplish all of them before coming to class.
Online participation and discussions are strongly encouraged. A student can create a topic or question for all of us to engage in. You can also update us on any news related to our topics or those that might be of interest to other participants. Suggestions on how to improve this course and other features of this system will also be useful. Please feel free to send us a message.
This course aims to prepare students in planning and justifying their research project, particularly those who are not proficient in English. Students will learn how to choose a topic, specify the focus of their research, develop the research questions and identify the key concepts that are essential in their planned research. Online discussions and peer reviews will also be incorporated in the course using Moodle. This will provide the students with the opportunity to discuss their writing, get feedback, and contribute their views and resources to others. Every student will get enough support in drafting the three chapters required in a thesis proposal; namely, the introduction, literature review and research methodology.
